Hard Things

An (incomplete) list of Hard Things I have done. Inspired by Proof You Can Do Hard Things.

  • ~ 100 km hike in Denmark over 5 days. Slept in tent and shelters. Pretty heavy pack. (Hærvejen from Viborg to Fjerritslev.) (Spring 2025)
  • Worked a job 5+ years
  • Worked out 20-30 minutes regularly most mornings for more than a year
  • Started climbing (bouldering) 2-3 times a week
  • Spent a Sunday night in a shelter at ~ -10C (Winter 2025)
  • Reached an early “financial freedom” goal: be able to take 2-3 months off every year (fully supported by my portfolio earnings)
  • Wrote “A Simple Guide to Financial Freedom”
  • Hiked 3 days in Jotunheimen National Park with a bit of snow at elevation. Slept one night under a tarp and two in huts. (Fall 2024)
  • Slept under a tarp in a snowstorm in Rondane National Park, Norway. Hiked onwards the next day. (Fall 2024)
  • 3 week solo trip to Norway in the fall of 2024
  • Wild camping/backpacking on Hardangervidda in Norway. Hiked 5 days from Finse to Geilo. 3 days without seeing anybody else. (Early Summer 2024)
  • Tracked my expenses and savings rate for two years
  • Wild camping in a tent in the Swiss Alps
  • Reached out to 100+ builders
  • Ran my second Marathon (Spring 2023)
  • Lived out of a backpack (no apartment for ~ 6 months) (Fall 2022)
  • Ran about 40km in the mountains in one day (New Zealand, Fall 2022)
  • Solo trip to New Zealand (+ Australia and Dubai) (~ 3 months. Fall 2022)
  • Built a web3 website
  • Created 55+ videos
  • Wrote Think Week 2021
  • Ran my first Marathon
  • Walked ~ 140 km coast to coast across Denmark in 3,5 days (and slept under a tarp two of the nights and a shelter the final one)
  • Winter solo camping (minus 6 degrees, snow) (2021)
  • First solo camping trip
  • Got a job
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science
  • Wrote 300 days in a year (2018)
  • Finished my first Adventure Race (in 2nd place). Overnight race.
  • Danish Champion in Orienteering (H20 Relay)
